How To Ensure A Zero-Stress Wedding Day

November 12th, 2010 Comments off

Careful planning is important before your wedding so that it goes perfectly. A wedding day should only carry sweet memories for the couple, so anything that can spoil the day must be handled properly before the event. It demands utmost attention to every detail and therefore the planners and the bride and the groom are always stressed out until that day. But there are things like pre wedding photography sessions that you can go for to reduce the anxiety somewhat.

Photography is an important component of a wedding. Therefore, before a photographer is hired for the wedding day, he must be engaged in a pre-wedding photography session. Risking the photographs of perhaps the most momentous day in your life is never a wise decision as you are going to cherish your wedding memories through these photographs only. Hence, a pre-wedding photography session is a must so that you are conscious of what to expect from the photographer and can check his work beforehand.

What you are dressed in has a direct impact on how you feel on the wedding day; hence, the selection of a well-fitting and elegant wedding dress should be an important consideration. A bulky gown with yards of pleated silk can cause much discomfort for the bride during outdoor weddings, and hence the wedding dress selection must be made as per the venue.

It is quite stressful for the couple to go through all the intensive arrangements that precede a wedding, like pre wedding photography, but this stress should not reflect on their faces on the wedding day. To look energetic on the wedding day, a appropriate dietary regime has to be maintained prior to the wedding. Drinking lots of water will ensure a fresh glow on your face on the day.

So if your wedding is in the near future, then in order to make it a truly unforgettable one, you must stick to the above tips that will make the day one you will lovingly recall forever.

Wedding Tips For Saving On The Photography Bill

September 16th, 2010 Comments off

Unfortunately the cost of wedding photography is usually very costly, sometimes thousands of dollars. Every bride wants that perfect picture that captures that special day, but can not afford to pay through the roof for it. By following these few simple budgeting ideas you can save money on wedding photography.

Advertising for the right person

An excellent place to advertise is at a local college or university They will have fresh skills and ideas when it comes to wedding photography, and they will cost a lot less.

Digital Over Prints

Go digital instead of getting prints. This will save you a profuse amount of money. You can now choose this as an option because most photographers will offer you the idea. Get a CD rather then prints and proofs of all your pictures. After you receive your CD look at online photo developers to print to photos for you.

Create your own wedding album

A great way to personalize all your pages in your album is to try scrap booking. No one will know your wedding and guests like you do. Scrap booking your wedding photography is a great way to go through your pictures and reflect on the moments. You will enjoy creating your album and not only that but you will also save hundreds of dollars opposed to having your photographer design an album, and they may not include pictures that your friends sent you as well.

You can choose how long you need the photographer for

How long do you really need your photographer around you? Instead of having them come with you when you re getting your hair done, make up done, and dress sized just get them to come for the ceremony and a bit of the celebration afterwards. A great way to get pictures of the bride preparing for the wedding is to have the bridesmaids take the photos.

21st Century – use disposables!

Having disposable cameras at the reception is also an excellent idea. After everything is said and done all you have to do is drop them off at a photo development outlet, then go through the ones you really like and make larger prints for frames around your house. You will probably end up getting a few funny photos but a lot of wonderful ones as well. This will also give you a wide variety of pictures because your guests will be taking pictures of each other and not just at the bride and groom. Adding more detail to your album.

Short Quick Excerpts Of Wedding And Proposal Stories Part 3

June 29th, 2010 Comments off

When I finished college, I moved to Queensland for two years. I eventually became home sick and moved back to Canberra. I was out partying one night with girlfriends at a bar and Mark asked a mutual friend to introduce us. We danced for a while and he asked me out to dinner the following Saturday night – I knew he was the one from that first dance. We bought a house together two years later and lived there for three years – Mark told me that he had won a prize on a local radio station for us to go skydiving. I had never done anything like it before and was very nervous, but he kept telling me that it would be ok and that I would love it. We went up in a tiny plane and when we reached 10,000 feet, it was time to jump – just before Mark jumped out, he looked at me and asked me to marry him! Of course I said yes and jumped out after him. When we landed friends and family were waiting for us with champagne and of course, the ring. It was very romantic and a huge surprise.

It was so romantic, we got married in the Brisbane botanical gardens, on the wedding lawn, overlooking a little lake, it was just perfect. Our theme was, semi formal with a purple & white colour scheme. We had “Elegant Settings” do all the chairs, covers and red carpet, we felt like royalty. We had Naomi Brett (Harpist) playing the Harp for back ground music who was just fantastic and her music was so beautiful. I walked down the aisle with my mum and dad who had both travelled in the car with me and our dear little daughter Abby, with my bridesmaids in the other car. I felt so special, when I saw Stu standing there waiting for me at the end of the aisle with a big smile on his face.

Upon entering the reception room we proceeded to engage in a Polish wedding tradition where the parents of the bride and groom feed the couple salt, bread and sweet dessert wine as a symbol of the sweetness and bitterness of life. We briefly cut the cake and attempted to eat dinner. I couldn’t eat much as I was a little nervous and I was very surprised when Steven refused to eat as he wasn’t feeling well. We put it down to nerves but I was later to find out he was suffering from food poisoning from the previous day!

I kept going to the Mac Shop everyday and then about 2 to 3 months later we started dating and Kelly got headhunted for a Mac Job in Brisbane. We were packing him up and getting him ready to move to Brisbane when we took a break around 11:50 pm and drove to the top of Castle Hill, which over looks the whole town of Townsville. Kelly got down on one knee and said that he couldn’t live without me in his life and that he couldn’t move to Brisbane without me and he asked if I would be his wife. And I said yes without hesitation.

Our home towns are worlds apart, mine being Gracac, Croatia and Neil’s in Dallas, USA, but we met in Perth where we were both living, through an Internet chat program called ICQ. We quickly discovered that we had many things in common, so I then decided to ask him out for a date. We began dating regularly and the rest is like a fairytale. I’ve never been closer to anyone, he truly is my best friend and my best boyfriend. One night (4th of August, 2003) Neil picked me up from work and we went to Kings Park, to the place where we had met for the very first time. He knelt down and proposed to me in the most beautiful way.

Our wedding day had arrived. It was a beautiful sunny day without a cloud in the sky. My day started with my best friend waking me up at 7am singing “You are my Sun Shine” and then proceed to sing “We’re going to the Chapel” and pushing me out of bed. I slept like a baby the night before our wedding. All my worries had gone, I knew everything had been done and nothing could be changed, ‘it was out of my control’. I had a great morning with my three bridesmaids. We spent the morning at my best friends salon and my sister and I did the makeup. Upon retuning from the salon, two-dozen long stem red roses arrived. When I saw the roses being walked up my parent’s driveway, I cried for the first time. The tears didn’t stop there…
