Covering your roof is hardly a new concept to anyone. Roof protects you from all weather conditions, no matter how extreme they are. But you must have seen leaky roofs or roofs covered with moths and lichens. This is because that even the best roofing material needs protection and regular maintenance. Roof painting is the best option to do that. Apply a supreme quality paint that suits your infrastructure, and you can add both beauty and life to your roof as well as home.

Your roof is subjected to many harsh weather conditions like rainfall, snowfall, exposure to ultraviolet rays, moths, fungi and many more. For that you need to protect your roof with a highly efficient roof paint. Moreover, there are wide ranges to cover your copper roofs with good quality paints.

The most important thing regarding copper roof painting is, one should choose a cool, dry day to carry out the project. This is because, copper paint is not applied at high temperatures. Moreover, you would require certain tools and articles such as wire brush, sandpaper, pressure washer, paint brush, primer and the exterior paint if you are planning to coat the copper roof with the paint.

Then, use a wire brush to scrape off all the build- ups and dirt from the roof. Sandpaper is generally use to abrade the dirt and mud. If by all efforts, dirt is still fixing over the roof, use pressure washer to remove it.

Apply a primer coat using a roller or a paint brush. It is not advised to directly put the primer. Rather, one should first vacate the primer into a five gallon bucket. After applying primer coat using a paint roller use paint brush to give the surface a smooth appearance.

People often miss applying the primer and use the paint straightaway. This can lead to peeling and chipping. So, it is always advised to use the primer before applying the paint.

After you have put the primer, it is the time to put the paint. If you are using the same roller and brush that you use in primer application, wash them thoroughly. Remove all the excess water. Allow the paint to dry before you put the next coat.

When painting a copper roof, avoid using dark colors as this can cause the roof to get very hot. Before indulging into the task of roof painting ensure, you have an adequate knowledge for that. Otherwise you can even harm them.
