It was my favorite thing to drink at the age of five, and it&#8217;s still my favorite drink over 30 years later. There&#8217;s some kind of fix that a soda satisfies that other drinks simply can&#8217;t.</p>
<p>The sweetness of soda can&#8217;t be beaten in my mind. Some of my favorites, like cream soda, give me just the right amount, and a unique sense of satisfaction. As I get older, though, I fully acknowledge the fact that it&#8217;s a habit I&#8217;d be better off putting an end to.</p>
<p>Aside from the fact that it causes cavities, too much soda can also make you excessively tired. Many point to sodas as a leading cause of diabetes too. It was time for me to make a change, and that&#8217;s exactly what I&#8217;ve done.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re at a loss for what to drink in its place and can&#8217;t come to terms with the idea of drinking water all day, any one of these drinks might do the job for you.</p>
<p>Have you ever had seltzer? If you have, try drinking it more regularly for a few weeks and the taste of it, or lack thereof, will grow on you. This is a perfectly healthy substitute for soda, and the carbonation definitely helps out.</p>

<p>One primary risk factor relates to exercise. Everyone has heard, &#8220;if you don&#8217;t use it, you lose it&#8221;. If you&#8217;re not exercising regularly, your back muscles are deconditioned and much more susceptible to injury &#8211; the strains and sprains we are accustomed to calling &#8220;back pain&#8221;. </p>
<p>Muscles get stronger when they&#8217;re required to do work. Also exercise helps &#8220;train&#8221; the soft tissues around a joint &#8211; the ligaments and tendons &#8211; these supporting structures &#8220;learn&#8221; how to withstand mechanical stresses and loads without becoming injured. When you exercise &#8211; when you do any kind of exercise &#8211; your body gets &#8220;smarter&#8221; and you&#8217;re less likely to get those annoying back problems.1 </p>
<p>A related risk factor is weak abdominal muscles. When you were a kid, at some point one of your gym teachers probably told you to &#8220;suck in your stomach&#8221;. It turns out that was pretty good advice. Your abdominal muscles support the muscles of your lower back. If your abdominals are weak or if you&#8217;re not using them &#8211; letting them hang out and droop instead of keeping them activated &#8211; your body weight has to be held up by the muscles of your lower back. They&#8217;re not designed to do that &#8211; they&#8217;re designed to move your spine around. And eventually, these lower back muscles will give way under the excess strain. The result is a very painful lower back injury. </p>
<p>There are many easy-to-do exercises for your abdominal muscles. The key is to actually do them &#8211; and do them after you are finished doing the rest of whatever exercises you&#8217;ve scheduled for that day. How often? Three times a week is plenty. Abdominal routines are quick &#8211; no more than 10 minutes. And, remember to use your abdominal muscles throughout the day. Imagine your abdominals are being pulled in and lifted up. This is not a &#8220;tightening&#8221; &#8211; your thought should be &#8220;activate&#8221;. Your body will know what to do, once you&#8217;ve started adding consistent abdominal training to your exercise routine. </p>
<p>Risk factors for back pain may also be found in your personal and family medical history.2,3 During your initial visit your chiropractor will ask you about accidents and surgeries you&#8217;ve experienced, and discuss any important elements in your family history. An example would be surgery to remove an inflamed galllbladder or appendix or to repair a hernia may result in weakened abdominal muscles. A motor vehicle accident or a fall from a height may have caused injuries that healed with soft tissue scarring. </p>
<p>Learning about potential risk factors and taking appropriate action will help ensure a stronger, more flexible, and healthier lower back. </p>

<p>And not all sources of protein are good for you.</p>
<p>In fact, there are some types of protein that you should avoid at ALL costs. So here are 5 types of protein you should NOT eat when toning flabby arms:</p>
<p><b>1. Farm-raised salmon.</b> This type of salmon has way too many toxins to warrant continual consumption. When possible, stick to wild salmon only. And try to get the fattiest cuts. </p>
<p><b>2. Deep-fried meats.</b> Anything that is deep fried will most likely have an excess of fat. And if you don&#8217;t watch out, it&#8217;s most likely going to be bad fat. Moreover, if you inhale the fumes when deep frying food you increase your risk for lung cancer. Not good!</p>
<p><b>3. Blackened protein.</b> Cooking something till the point that it&#8217;s blackened may taste good, but it&#8217;s very very bad for you. Consistent research has shown that blackening meats increases cancer rates. So lightly cook or steam your food, but don&#8217;t overdo it.</p>
<p><b>4. Red meat with high fat content.</b> Red meat has a bad reputation. But it&#8217;s not the red meat that&#8217;s bad for you, it&#8217;s the saturated fat within the red meat that causes the damage. If possible, stick to grass fed sources of meat. They will be higher in omega-3 fats and lower in saturated fat.</p>
<p><b>5. Thin-sliced deli cuts.</b> The convenience of deli cut meats is cancelled out by nitrates. What do nitrates do? Increase rates of colon cancer. Not good. So stick with natural sources of protein and avoid highly processed protein like deli cuts.</p>
<p>Toning flabby arms should not include risks to your health. So make sure you stick to clean and natural sources of protein. And by avoiding the above types of protein you&#8217;ll be much more healthier during your sexy arm journey.</p>
